Upfront Ventures participated in a funding round for startup HelloTech. Madrona Venture Group led the Series A round of $12.5 million in funding. Other participants were CrossCut Ventures and Accel Partners.
HelloTech is a company that connects college students with strong technical expertise, to users who need technical support in their homes. This TechCrunch article notes that homes today have upwards of ten connected devices. When users need live, in-person help to manage their devices, HelloTech wants to be the solution.
Currently the project is live in Los Angeles, but the company plans to roll out on a national level.
